About This Workshop

In this fun workshop, you will learn how using a limited colour palette can bring cohesion to your watercolour painting. Caroline will demonstrate how considered colour placement can be used to bring depth and a 3D effect to your work. She will also cover transferring an image onto watercolour paper, painting texture, and using a reference image. The result will be a pretty, nostalgic watercolour artwork.

Once learnt, the transferring technique can easily be applied to future projects. Caroline will also be covering the fundamental watercolour techniques of wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, lifting, shading and adding detail for texture and depth. You will experience building up your layers, starting with washes and blocks of colour, and finalising your creation with a fine brush to add details.

There is a template sketch for you to trace over, so no drawing skills required!

You can have lots of fun making a gorgeous beginner-friendly shell artwork using watercolour.
